Lorna was a creative, bright and beautiful person, special and unique. I want to thank Arnot Ogden Medical Center ICU for keeping her stable until the Strong Memorial Hospital Cardiac ICU Critical Care Transport Team arrived. The Critical Care Team did a wonderful job keeping me informed, getting Connie ready for the trip and successfully transporting her to the Rochester Unit. I want to thank Strong Memorial Cardiac ICU daily personnel for their overall professionalism caring for Connie, and especially the nurses for taking care of her. But unfortunately she had other organ problems before the heart surgery could be performed.

Payne, his paternal grandparents, John & Grace Payne nee Haley, and his maternal grandparents, Harry Frankfather and Delores Storebeck nee Bendle. She attended school in Montour Falls, NY and graduated from Cook Academy there. Age 89, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022. He was born in Willimantic, CT on June 2, 1932, the son of the late Wallace and Bessie Hilliard. John was born in Montour Falls, NY, the son of John “Jack” and Mary Barnes.
There could be no greater love than hers and as such, she was easy to love. Her message to others was to take in the beauty around you and love each other by rising above differences of opinion. Kenneth & Joanne relocated to Watkins Glen from Stone Ridge, NY with the purchased Grant’s Greenhouses in November 1968. Mom took over the financial end of the business, learned to take floral orders, make corsages, etc., while balancing the many moving balls of family life. Ruby is survived by two daughters, Peggy Messersmith Flood and Bonnie Messersmith ; two sons, Terry Messersmith and Robert Messersmith ; three sisters, Sylvia Bowers, Arlene Ballings and Carol Smith; and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ken was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was a well-versed poet, having one of his poems published in a national magazine.

He eventually had a rewarding career in Heavy Road Construction and retired from the Schuyler County Highway Department, where he served as Deputy Superintendent. Connie was a beautiful person, an excellent wife, my best friend, an excellent cook and helped me many times. Her lovely eyes, beautiful smile and laugh will be missed by all. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Peters, in 2000. Phil’s kind and generous soul always made room for family, friends, good food, and a good joke.
She met the love of her life Anthony Ariano and together had two outstanding children, Catherine and Michael, raised at their lovely home in Spring Valley, NY. Together they worked hard running the family business, 3 C Sanitation, for many decades. In typical Allen fashion, Barb was a very charitable, giving person but was also a fantastic cook and loved singing in her all-girl group. Barb and Anthony loved retirement at their summer home above Seneca Lake on Jolly Rd. When she was hired by the Watkins Glen Post Office, the village had no idea of what they were in for. She could always captivate the room wherever she went with her beautiful face, smile and bigger than life personality.
He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, camping, fishing, and creating his own recipes. Bruce had a big heart, and was kind to everyone he met. His greatest achievement in life was his daughter, Jasmine. Sadly, his adult life left him with demons he was unable to overcome. His family and friends will remember him smiling, happy, and knowing he’s finally at peace.
